The L.B.Evans Duke Opera is crafted from 100% soft leather. For care, the product can be machine washed. It was either made in the USA or imported. The sole material is leather, and the country of origin is China.

When purchasing the L.B.Evans Duke Opera for the first time, it is recommended to order a half size larger than your normal shoe size.

The history of L.B.Evans dates back to 1804, when T. & A. Evans (Thomas and Amos) were running a small shoe business connected to a general store in South Reading. At that time, there was no shoe factory as we know it today - just a small shop where Thomas and Amos cut the leather for their shoes. The actual shoemaking was outsourced among the townspeople, while Thomas and Amos supplied them with uppers, soles, counters, and heels to be assembled into shoes. All shoes were sewn by hand whenever the shoemaker-farmers had the time.

Today, L.B.Evans is owned and operated as a division of Daniel Green Enterprises. Many of the traditional gentleman's slipper styles are still part of the product line, but the business has expanded to include new updated classics, premium products made from elk and deer, and an array of rugged, warm outdoor styles.
