The origins of L.B. Evans can be traced back to 1804, when Thomas and Amos Evans operated a small shoe business connected to a general store in South Reading. Unlike modern shoe factories, their operation consisted of a modest workshop where the brothers would cut the leather, and then outsource the actual shoemaking to local residents, supplying them with uppers, soles, counters, and heels to assemble the shoes by hand.

Today, L.B. Evans is owned and operated as a division of Daniel Green Enterprises. While the brand still maintains many of the traditional gentleman's slipper styles, the business has expanded to include new updated classics, premium products featuring elk and deer leather, as well as an array of rugged, warm outdoor styles.

Despite the growth and evolution of the brand, Daniel Green Enterprises remains committed to upholding the quality and comfort guarantee that the Evans brothers established over 200 years ago.
